All About Wave Riders

Question: This question is for the big wave riders?

Sorry, I feel a little bit embarrassed asking this question, but I'm not sure on this. When you get wiped out on a huge wave (20 ft +) that comes in a set of 3, 4, 5, what is your surviving strategy, I mean even if you try to duck down but as soon as you pop up on the surface, another huge one is coming, and soon chances are, you may run out of air. Uhm, would the life- saving vest be the good option to at least keep you afloat on the surface? I know a life- saving vest can hinder your ability from duck- diving & avoiding the impact from the huge wave. So what is your surviving strategy when you get wiped out riding the big waves?

I dont think your going to find any big wave riders on Y!A. They do use life vests, some are even carrying small oxygen tanks with them. They train very intensely and there are always people on hand in jet skis ready to ride in and then pull them out as quickly as possible. Sometimes people can be airlifted by chopper but you risk the machine getting hit by the wave if they are big enough. I dont think there is much you can do beyond being prepared in every way possible. People die for sure.

Yeah, The life-saving vest be the good option to at least keep you afloat on the surface! and that is also the most option ! when i read your your post, I was thinking of a friend saying: " If God did not give you anything but a lemon, then I just mixed a drink a glass of lemonade was. " Children's Humor! Yes,Yes, the humor will appease all the sadness. But to make a cup of lemon juice, then I must have sugar, water and a cup and a spoon instead. if being me, I'll go find someone who can give me the road, find lenders and coke spoons, and to find where to get water. Holding your breath while underwater has a large part to do with all this. I come up and think: AIR! and I rely upon my wetsuit for added bouancy, but it does restrict movement. Paddling or towing in would determine if I would wear another life float.
